Once he'd gotten word from Noah that it would be safe, Peter was eager to visit Central City and see Claire. It was nice to hear she'd finally settled down, and something he expected to happen sooner or later. What he didn't expect, however, was to hear she'd gotten herself into a relationship. At least not so soon after moving in.

But he understood all too well what it was like to fall in love with someone at first sight. He was glad that it seemed to be going much better for his niece than it had for him.

There was also some lingering curiosity about the dream he'd had. The one where he was in that weird room with Claire and a bunch of people he didn't know - her friends, he would later learn after talking with Noah. He assumed he'd meet them eventually, though maybe not today. It would make sense if she wanted to introduce him slowly and let them build up trust in him. She'd never been so open with her relationships that he could remember - the last one he knew anything about had been with Gretchen and even then he barely had met the woman. Peter didn't want to push too hard and end up distancing himself from Claire all over again. He was all too aware that his involvement with Sylar had put a strain on them, and he wanted to use this time to try and set things right.

Claire had texted her address just after moving in, so he knew right where to go. But rather than teleport directly into the apartment, Peter popped into the hallway. He was planning to surprise her, and now that he was there, he hoped she was home so he didn't have to text her and ruin the surprise.

He knocked twice, then waited for her to answer.

"I know you're not going to hurt me," Peter said earnestly. "And neither is Killer Frost. I can get through to her. I just need time, and I need your trust. Can you give me a chance?" He held out his hand to her again, but this time he waited for her to take it. "I'm not losing you."

"A little ice is nothing compared to what I'll do if you don't shut the hell up!" Claire let the statement hang so he wonder about it. He didn't know her, and therefore he had no idea what kind of powers she might have. She shot Barry a quick smile, cheeky and yet innocent. Let Julian think she had something worse than ice, it would be fun.

"You can't know that." She said fearfully. But Caitlin wasn't the only one afraid. Killer Frost didn't want to die either. She didn't want to find out if Alchemy could get rid of her or not. So Peter might feel both of their fear. "I trust you." Even with the frosty undertone to her voice, she reached out and took his hand, cold as ice, somewhere between Caitlin and Frost. It wasn't even clear which of them had given in and reached for him.

"Bloody Metas! All of you! I thought you were better than this, Flash. You're supposed to be a hero of the people."

Barry ignored him and grabbed him by the arm to take him back to the cell. "You have her Peter?"

Guess who can't sleep again? D:

It was such a relief that she (whether it was Caitlin or Frost in control), and he didn't bother to hide how happy he was. He took her hand in both of his, enveloping hee in his warmth. "Thank you." Her fear was so intense that he knew it very well could be Frost's on top of Caitlin's, but he wasn't going speculate or investigate yet. She needed to test, that was the priority.

"I got her," he told Barry, never taking his eyes off Cait. And then he said to her, "Think of where you want to go and I'll take us there." That way, she didn't have to say her address out loud with Julian in the room.

Claire too was relieved that Caitlin had given in and decided to let Peter help. There was something else in the midst of all this that was telling, too. Julian didn't know that The Flash was Barry. Either that, or he was doing a damn good job of pretending not to know. It was hard to tell what his connection to Savitar might be.

She was so perplexed by the situation that she didn't even bother correcting the bastard when he called them all Metas. He didn't need to know what she was. Let him think she was just like Barry.

With Peter split off to go to Caitlin, Claire stuck close to Barry. In the process, she got a better look at Julian. What a weasel, with a punchable face.

"The Flash is a hero of the people," she said proudly. Evidently Julian qualified, but just barely. He was going right back to the Pipeline, unharmed. Caitlin hadn't even hurt him, and he was acting like it was some kind of assassination attempt. "He's better than... whatever you think you are. You can tell us all about that when you're in a cell again."

Caitlin almost fell into him, holding his hand like a lifeline, eyes closing tight. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she lost her control. "Thank you Peter." Her voice was hoarse with just how raw she felt. He'd stopped her from pushing a boundary that might've made her lose who she was forever. She'd been losing her patience with Julian and he'd been antagonising her enough that Killer Frost had wanted blood. Especially if having Julian dead meant she didn't have to worry about finding out whether he could get rid of her.

Now that she was safe with him, she lost most of the fight to her exhaustion. She thought of her apartment and of her bedroom. "My pendant is still in my car." She admitted.

Barry could feel his heart breaking hearing Caitlin like that. But he tried to focus on Julian and Claire. When she defended him, he put a hand on her shoulder and gave it a loving squeeze.

Julian baulked at her. "I beg your pardon! I'm a Crime Scene Investigator! At least my know-how didn't come out of some glorified science experiment gone wrong! I fight crime the proper way! Not behind masks, lording your power over innocent folk with no choice but to hope you're the better of two evils! The Flash is the only one among you who has earned my respect! I still don't trust the rest of you lot."

So glad it's a short work week for me. :x

Peter's free hand lifted to brush her tears away, and he gave her a quick warning before blinking then into her apartment. Her... bedroom, to be specific. He looked up in surprise, blushing faintly.

"Sorry. It's where you were thinking the hardest." He didn't let go of her just yet. "If you'd like, I can pop back and get your pendant and bring it to you. You don't have to come with me unless you want to. I just thought it best to get you out of there." His hand cradled her cheek tenderly. As much as he hadn't wanted to smother her before, now he was too worried about her to let her go!

Claire did her best not to react too much to Barry's touch. Internally, she was soaring. She was so damn proud of him, and any chance she could let it show, she would take it. Instead her expression gave way to something more mischievous. Was this something Peter would've sent her to Madagascar for? Guess she'd have to make friends with the lemurs another day.

"Yeah, it's gotta be scary, not knowing what I can do, huh? Fire, maybe?" She wiggled her fingers in Julian's general direction, a mockery of something threatening. "As long as you talk when we get your ass back in the Pipeline, you won't have to find out what I'm capable of."

Funny enough, that was completely true. His information could help to keep her from being hurt by Savitar, and ultimately save her life. He didn't need to know the why or how of it, though. The unknown was the scariest part.

Cait shook her head. "It's okay. This is where I need to be." She sounded so drained. "I can stay put while you grab it." She pulled her keys out of her pocket and handed them over. "Hold onto them until the morning for me?" Like she didn't trust herself or like she thought they wouldn't trust her after this stunt.

Killer Frost was surprisingly quiet right now in Caitlin's head. "After you get my pendant... will you sit with me until I fall asleep?" She knew it was probably a strange ask, and she'd only ever asked it of Barry in the past, but she needed the comfort right now.

"Talk? What's there to talk about? I don't know what this bloody Pipeline is or why you're treating me like a criminal here! That crazy bird had me locked up, brought me out here, then started threatening me to fix her! I've not the foggiest what she was on about! Or you for that matter!" Julian sounded increasingly distressed. "Flash, do something, mate!"

Barry sighed. "Alright..." Barry untied Julian from the chair but didn't let him go. Then ran both Claire and Julian back to STAR Labs, locking Julian in the Pipeline, leaving himself and Claire just outside the door.

"Wait, what? Why are we back here? What's going on?!" He sounded genuinely confused.

Peter took Caitlin's keys with a nod. "I'll be right back. I'm not as fast as Barry, but it'll still be quick." He smiled at her, hoping to lighten her mood at least a little. "Give me... twenty seconds. Maybe fifteeb." So he didn't startle her when he popped back in.

It was easy enough to 'port outside of the warehouse and find Caitlin's car. He unlocked it and found her pendant, then locked it up again. After she got some sleep, he could bring her back so she could drive it home. As promised, he returned, pendant in hand, and he held it out to her.

"All things considered," he began, "I have to say, you did well. Kidnapping Julian was the wrong call, obviously. But look at it this way - you didn't hurt him. Back at the lab, I heard how angry Killer Frost is. She was out for blood, but neither of you harmed so much as a hair on that asshole's head." Things didn't get nearly as dire as they could have. "You stayed in control, and you weren't wearing the pendant. You did that, Caitlin."

Claire put her hands on her hips once they were outside of Julian's cell and he continued his whining. But, annoyingly, he sounded like he was telling the truth. Unfortunately, she wasn't willing to make that call with her own intuition, though. She'd been burned before.

"We need Peter," she murmured to Barry, frustrated. "Telepathy. Read his mind and find the truth." She was reluctant to call her uncle, knowing that Caitlin needed him now. Sylar had the ability to detect lies, but she didn't know that, and even if she did, she wasn't ready to face him. Not yet.

"We're holding you because you turned all those people into Metas, duh. The Flash literally caught you doing it." Her voice was louder when she said that, directed at Julian, eyes narrowing as she stared into the cell. "Tell us how and why, and tell us your connection to Savitar."

You can do it!

Cait nodded and waited for him to 'port away before moving to the master bathroom to get changed into her pyjamas as quickly as she could so she wasn't caught awkwardly between states of undress when he came back.

Once he was back and she was fully changed, she took the pendant and sighed in relief when she felt its power push back the ice completely. "Thank you." She said softly. "I... nearly hurt him. I could have hurt him. I don't know what I was thinking..." While Peter saw promise in her self control, she only saw weakness that it even got to that point in the first place. "Thawne's warning to Claire... Killer Frost is my future. I'm going to kill my friends, Peter."

A telepath would be lovely right now, but he felt the same way. Cait needed Peter. Because Julian sounded honest. Barry believed him. He was confused and even a little scared despite covering it up with bluster and ego. Not the maniacal maniac he'd fought before Savitar appeared. He also hadn't found any tech in the mask to augment his voice like it had sounded. He'd... sounded just like Savitar. Barry stepped back from the cell just a bit losing some of his conviction.

"I did no such thing! Why would I...? How could I turn people into Metas?!" Julian argued, sounding desperate.

"You're Alchemy, Julian!" Barry shot back, his voice vibrating to alter it so Julian didn't recognise him.

Julian looked like someone had splashed him with ice water. "What?" He shook his head. "You're both mad! I'm not Alchemy! I've been trying to catch him! This... is a set-up! The Flash? Really? Trying to frame me? Because you can't catch the real baddie, you're pulling in innocent people now and accusing them to maintain your image?"

Barry shook his head and walked away from the cell in a huff. He was going to get nowhere with Julian.

"I want my phone call! Surely even you have to obey the judicial system!"

"Could have, but you didn't. You held back. You held her back." He understood why she didn't necessarily want to give herself credit, but he thought it was important. There was the potential that Killer Frost could be reasoned with. "I don't think you're going to kill anyone, Caitlin."

Peter stroked a hand through her hair, tucking a few strands behind her ear. "We can talk about it more after you get some sleep. Go on and get comfortable, I'll sit with you."

Claire might have been willing to hear out a real defense. Unfortunately, accusing The Flash just pissed her off all over again. Julian may have been the one in a cell, but she felt like a caged lion pacing back and forth now, her mane of blonde hair tossed back over her shoulders. He should be grateful Barry was there, otherwise she wouldn't be holding back now.

"What were you doing when The Flash caught you, then? Cosplaying as Alchemy for fun? 'Cause that sounds like bullshit." It might be a while before her uncle showed up. Getting some answers now would give them something to compare when Peter read his mind.

Caitlin nodded. She was too tired to argue and without the adrenaline or the added strength Frost gave her, she felt even more exhausted. She crawled onto the bed after turning the covers back and curled up on her side. She left room for him to sit on the edge.

"Thank you for stopping me from doing something I'd regret. And thank you for being here for me." She let her eyes flutter closed.

"I don't know what you're on about! I was at home! I woke up here! Then the crazy ice queen dragged me to that warehouse and you lot saved me from her! I was never cosplaying anyone!" Julian insisted. Barry looked him over carefully from the shadows and frowned.

"Phoenix, I think he's telling the truth." He said deliberately. There was zero recognition in Julian's eyes to the hero moniker. Where Savitar had known her, so surely his acolyte would too, right?

"Anytime. You have my number now. If you wake up and need me to come back, I'm just a text away." Peter settled on the edge of Caitlin's bed, close enough to reach out and stroke her hair. There he'd stay, until he was certain she was sleeping soundly.

In his opinion, she did just as much to stop herself. As angry as Killer Frost had sounded in those few seconds earlier that day... he couldn't imagine living with that all the time. Caitlin was far stronger than she gave herself credit for.

She understood Barry's choice, there, and saw that Julian seemed to have no idea who Phoenix was. Shit. They were back at square one, weren't they?

"Maybe he is," Claire conceded. Or maybe Savitar didn't think he was important enough to mention his plans to kill her. But surely someone who had been described as Alchemy had would be more... maniacal. Unless he was a manipulator to the level of Eobard Thawne, which in her (admittedly biased) opinion seemed unlikely. "So, what do we do? We can't just let him go, can we?"

"You're my hero, you know?" Cait mumbled with a soft smile. She reached out to take his hand when he sat down and let exhaustion take her.

Killer Frost just wanted to live. She'd been forced into darkness for 30 years. That was enough to make anyone angry.

"No, we can't."

"What? Why not? I haven't done anything! You have no right to keep me here!" Julian protested.

"Have you been blacking out? Losing time?"

"No."

Barry sighed and sounded frustrated. That was the first thing Julian said that sounded like an outright lie. "Julian, I'm trying to help you, but you need to trust me!"

"And why should I believe you? You hide behind a mask and keep me locked in this secret Flash prison! Tell me why I should trust a word you say?" Did Julian sound scared?

Barry gave Claire's shoulder another squeeze then dropped his hand away from her, urging her to stay in the dark with a small gesture. "You know what, you're right." He stepped into the light again and pulled back his cowl.

Julian looked surprised at first, then like it made sense. "I should've known! I should've guessed it! The unexplained absences, your passion for Metas, your general thumbing your nose at authority. I'm sure you had a good laugh behind my back."

"It would've been easier if I could've told you before. When I stopped you from accidentally shooting that kid. You thanked me. You stopped hating me."

"So why tell me now?"

"Because you are Alchemy, Julian. I just don't think you're aware of it. Like Phoenix said, I caught you. You were attacking me and Wallace West, Joe's son. I personally took off your mask." Barry looked back to Claire, reaching for her hand for support. "Now, have you been blacking out?"

Julian looked between Barry and Phoenix, then his expression darkened. "Yes. It started when I was 20. My sister Emma died. It devastated me and really broke the family up, you know? Mum and da stopped talking; they barely stayed at the house. Then one night, I was home alone and she came back to me. She stood right in front of me, clear as day, ghost or vision, I don't know, but she was real. She told me about the Philosopher's Stone. That if I found it, it could bring us back together again and at that point, mate, I would've done anything to have her back. So I mounted an expedition to India. We searched days, weeks, nothing, and then we found it. Next thing I remember, I woke up in the hotel room. No memory of how I got there. And that's when the blackouts started happening regularly. There was a news report saying every other member of my team had been found... dead. I knew they'd blame me, so I ran. Fled to America."

Well, if there was any way to tug at Peter's heartstrings, there it was. Just like Claire, when he first met her. Except... he wasn't related to Caitlin.

He smiled down at her, waiting until her breathing slowed, growing deeper and more even. All the while he held her hand and stroked her hair. Once she was out, he gently and reluctantly pulled away. Not sure of where else to go, he popped back to the Cortex.

No sign of Barry or Claire. "Did they get back yet?" he asked Cisco. "I just came from Caitlin's. She's safe. And asleep."

Claire's chest tightened when she realized what Barry was doing. She almost shouted to stop him, but bit her tongue. He trusted her enough to bring her along for this, now she had to trust him. This went both ways.

She was grateful for the shadows, though, so she didn't have to let Julian see her scared. Not afraid for herself, as usual, but Barry. If that little fucker did something, she'd--

It turned out, she wouldn't have to do anything. Julian was talking and Barry's sudden burst of intuition was spot on. That was her guy, right there, her hero, her fiancé. Her future. She went from scared to bursting with pride in a instant, and when he turned for her hand, she stepped forward and laced her fingers in with his, smiling adoringly. But she didn't take her mask off. Not yet. She just felt better with it on for now.

Julian's story sounded a bit insane, but the more she thought about it, was it really any more insane than her own life? "Sounds like this stone is the cause, then," Claire said, calmer now. Barry just had that way with her. "We still don't know how it connects to Savitar."

Wish I could take credit for this twist. XD

"Holy Hanna!" Cisco yelped and jumped, clutching his chest when Peter spoke. "I'm putting friggin' bell on you and Harry!" Not that it would really do much good on a teleporter.

He gestured to the Pipeline CCTV display he had up on the monitor. "Barry and Claire are getting to the bottom of the Julian-Alchemy thing. Turns out, he's being mind controlled by the rock...?" He ended it with an upward inflection because he was so confused by that right now. "Is Cait gonna be okay?"

Barry would never ask her to take off her mask in front of him. As a matter of fact, he was glad she hadn't. But her support was what he needed right now. He squeezed her hand to let her know that.

"Savitar? You've said that name a couple times now." Julian said, perplexed. "When I was doing research on the Philosopher's Stone, I saw mentions to Savitar, the Hindu God of Motion. What does a Hindu Deity have to do with all of this now?"

"Sorry!" Peter winced. He wasn't sure teleporting to the hallway and coming in through the door would be much better. Cisco's explanation left him just as confused as Cisco himself seemed to be, so he left that for a moment. "Yeah. I think Caitlin will be alright. She... asked me to hold onto her car keys; her car's still at the warehouse. I figure I can just 'port her there to get it when she wakes up."

He looked up at the CCTV display, brows furrowed. "Barry took his mask off? Why would he do that?" The whole point was to keep his identity a secret. Didn't he work with this guy? He hadn't expected things to get so much weirder in his absence. Maybe he should have. "But I guess it looks like they have it covered."

Sooner or later, Julian would figure out who she was. All it'd really take would be for him to see her out with Barry, and as long as he stayed in Central City, that was bound to happen. For now, she leaned in a little closer, glad to be able to give her support.

"Someone is using that name," Claire replied. Someone who's going to kill me, she wanted to say, but didn't. "We had reason to believe that he's connected to Alchemy, and is planning something terrible. But if you don't remember anything... there goes a solid chance at a lead." They were so close, she thought, and now they had nothing to show for everything they'd been through today.

Well, almost nothing. Maybe Peter would be able to help Caitlin with her Killer Frost problem, and that was something. Wait, that was it. Peter.

"There are ways to erase memories, I know a guy who can do it. But there are also ways to suppress them, to render them inaccessible without something like telepathy. Or, I suppose finding a way to heal the brain damage would do the trick, too." At least she was talking about brain damage in a clinical sense, and not insulting him. Progress! "Either way, it could be possible to help you remember what happened those times you blacked out."

"It's cool, dude." Cisco dismissed. He was a bit of a drama queen, and easy to jumpscare, which was something Harry enjoyed taking advantage of because the young genius was so animated. But it wasn't genuine terror like it could induce with Caitlin.

"She probably thinks we don't trust her to stay put." He mused. But he was glad she was sleeping. He nodded answering the question. He held out a bowl of gummy worms to Peter. "Barry's got this way with people. He wanted the jerk to trust him and open up because apparently he doesn't know he's going all evil SCP-49 on everyone."

"Like what? I don't believe in all that new age homeopathic medicine and hypnotism rubbish." Julian said, sounding sceptical. Beside her, Barry snorted a short laugh.

"You've got a plan?" He asked her.

"Her car was still at the warehouse, I could've just left them. But... it's hard to tell her no." Listen, he was quickly becoming smitten, okay? He just wanted to see Caitlin happy, and if she was happy because of him, that was all the better.

"So he doesn't know he's Alchemy," Peter mused. His train of thought was going more or less where Claire's was, in that moment. He watched his niece with a sudden bout of laughter. "Barry's got a way with her, too. She was ready to throw hands at the warehouse. Now she looks downright docile."

"There's a telepath in the building," said Claire, matter-of-fact. She nodded at Barry, still looking into the cell. "If those memories are locked in your brain somewhere, he might be able to find 'em." Peter could do literal hypnosis of a sort, she was pretty sure. Considering what Parkman had been able to do to Sylar... it was a powerful ability, and she was grateful that her uncle used it responsibly.

"Say he doesn't find anything, no harm done. If he does, though?" She hesitated, frowning. Ugh, why did she care? Because warning Julian was the right thing to do. "If he does find something, it might be distressing for you to remember."

"You're such a sap." Cisco laughed. "I'm sure I don't have to tell you I'll Breach you into a black hole dimension if you break her heart, right?" In reality, he was happy the two were being so cute and that she was finally seemingly with someone decent again.

"He doesn't. Or, he didn't. Guess he does now." The laugh was cleared up quickly and Cisco grinned. "They're a powerhouse couple."

"I need to know. Alchemy's been terrorising people! If... if I've been hurting people, I want to know about it!" Julian said defiantly, even if he looked almost on the verge of tears. He was leaning close to the glass.

"What Alchemy's done, that's not your fault, Julian." Barry said gently.

"Tell your telepath, I'll do whatever it takes. I need to know if I was the one who killed my team. If... How many people I've hurt."

"Peter's here if you need him." Cisco said over Claire's comm since Barry didn't have his on anymore. "Cait's asleep." He informed.

"I already know, there'll be a line of folks waiting if I screw this up, including Claire," said Peter with a laugh. It was a lot of pressure, to be sure, but he felt more optimistic about Caitlin than he had about almost anyone else he'd gotten involved with.

She was calling the shots, it was all at her pace. He was just happy to be in her orbit.

"I get it. I figured it was only fair to warn you." Claire jumped a little as Cisco's voice came through her comm. Eventually, she'd get used to that. Not today.

Caitlin being asleep was good news. She'd wait to tell Barry. "Can you send him down, please? We need him to read Julian's mind. He, uh. He has permission. Julian is on board with this plan."

"Are you sure you want to be here for this?" Barry asked Claire softly. "I'm so proud of you and everything you've done today. You can step back if you need to." She'd been through a lot for her first day as Phoenix and if she needed to collect her thoughts, he wouldn't blame her.

Peter was a little surprised by that. He figured someone who hated Metas wouldn't consent to such a thing. But it was kind of an outrageous situation, maybe Julian was desperate. He nodded, ready to focus on Claire and 'port to her.

"I'm seeing this through," Claire said, quiet but confident. Though she did blush a little at Barry saying he was proud of her. It didn't feel like she'd done enough. Peter would be doing the hard part now. She gave Barry's hand a squeeze. "I'll be okay."

Of course, she also wanted to stick close with him. They were safer in the Lab and in the Pipeline than just about anywhere, but wasn't taking any risks right now.

Peter appeared next to Claire, running a hand through his hair as he looked around. Huh. It really was a containment area for problematic Metas. His eyes quickly focused on the task at hand, nodding to Barry and Claire, then peering into the cell at Julian.

"He doesn't remember anything Alchemy has done," Claire explained quickly. "I thought the memories could be in there still, he just can't access them. Unless it's all been erased, like The Haitian can do."

Her uncle nodded, and stepped closer to the cell. "If it's not there, we'll know pretty fast. How long has this been going on? It could be a lot of suppressed memories to go through." He wasn't sure if Barry wanted to let Julian out for this, but fortunately it would work through the glass.

"If you're ready, just try to relax and open your mind. Whatever thoughts or memories come, don't try to fight them, it'll probably just give you a headache." And with that, he began to gently probe Julian's mind, focusing on anything related to the stone, or to the Alchemy mask. That seemed like the most logical place to start.

Julian was about to comment on just how cosy Barry was with the Phoenix girl, but then Peter popped in and he closed his mouth. He moved right up to the glass when Peter did, not sure if the other needed close proximity or not, but he'd provide what he could.

"About ten years on and off." Julian admitted.

Barry wouldn't mind opening the cell at this point, given that they knew Julian wasn't willingly becoming Alchemy, but they didn't know what triggered the change, so he left the cell shut for now.

Julian nodded and closed his eyes. "Go for it mate." He tried to relax and not fight whatever memories would bubble up. But Peter would find nothing. There were gaps, not like erased memories, but like Julian had been unconscious. With Peter in his mind, he might hear a voice, like a siren song. It was luring Peter into a part of Julian's mind that seemed void. It would start to sound familiar, like Nathan. It would say everything he wanted to hear, keeping him occupied for as long as it could.

On the outside, Julian jolted, his eyes snapping wide, and his voice was wrong. Metallic and raspy. Claire would recognise it as the same voice she heard from Savitar. "Barry, Claire." He greeted. "You should be on your knees. It's only right to bow before a God."

"Hey, don't be like that. I'm dead, sure, but not gone. You just need to get the Philosopher's Stone. It can set everything right. It will even save Claire." The stone, in its stone box would appear as an image in Peter's mind sitting on a table in Cisco's lab.

Barry instinctively put himself between Julian and Claire. "You're not a God." Barry snapped back.

"To be a God you just have to make people believe in you." Savitar retorted then looked at Claire. "I want revenge. I want back everything that was taken from me. I want to make Barry Allen suffer. Barry, you thought Thawne or Zoom were your worst foes? No. It's me. To Barry. We've only just met, but to me, we've know each other a lifetime. You'd think Thawne would've taught you not to mess with time, Barry, but you didn't listen. And I'm the consequence. I'm sorry you have to pay the price for his mistakes, Claire. I truly am. But he won't learn his lesson unless he loses everything he holds dear."

Barry moved to the glass, hitting it with his fist, glaring with a level of anger he only showed to Thawne. "You won't touch her!" He pulled his enraged gaze away from Julian. "Is there a way to break Peter's telepathy without hurting them?"

"That sounds...stupid..." Peter muttered, still mentally tied to Julian. What did a stone have to do with getting his brother back? It sounded off, somehow. Magical. He didn't believe in magic - and no, abilities weren't the same thing.

Claire was just as angry as Barry, listening to Savitar go on and on, so smug. She stepped forward, eyes blazing. Thawne messed with time, too! Savitar himself was messing with time, the goddamn hypocrite. Why was Barry being singled out?

"Save your fake apologies. I'm not a tool for your revenge or your stupid lesson," she seethed. "We're going to stop you, and it's probably not going to be pleasant for you."

But she wasn't sure how to help her uncle. The best thing she could think of was just to take his hand. Some gentle reminder of reality. "Peter, c'mon..." she murmured.

It wasn't Claire's voice that broke through to him, nor her voice. It was the wave of anger hitting his empathy, from both her and Barry. Particularly from Barry, who was far less prone to that sort of rage. Peter tore his mind away from Julian's with a grunt, and staggered back a couple steps as the connection severed. He panted to catch his breath, a hand on his chest. "Something... Is messing with his head," he managed to get out. "It tried to mess with me. I heard Nathan." His voice cracked on his brother's name, and Claire rushed in to hug him.

"I'm sorry," Peter said brokenly, clearly trying to hold himself together. With his arms still around Claire, he looked to Barry helplessly. "No memories. I didn't get anything. It's like it never happened for him. Like it happened to someone else, and his body was just along for the ride."
